Subject: Be a little bit on the bland side Добрый день!Помогите, пожалуйста, разобраться с фразой: Straight out of the box KTorrent is a little bit on the bland side. Речь идёт о программе KTorrent, которая прямо из коробки не слишком хороша. Вот с этим "не слишком хороша" хотелось бы разобраться детально, в частности, понять, что такое bland side. Заранее спасибо! |
| я слышала выражение blind side - слабая сторона, возможно, у вас опечатка. |

Воображение сильно не поражает (скучновата). BLAND: If you describe someone or something as bland, you mean that they are rather dull and unexciting. (Collins Cobuild). Там же: "If you say that something is on the small side, you are saying politely that you think it is slightly too small. If you say that someone is on the young side, you are saying politely that you think they are slightly too young." |
