в отстутствие КОНТЕКСТА, "гоп-стоп", очевидно :) |
What does gobstop mean? "Gob" is "mouth". A "gobstopper" is a very large spherical sweet (piece of candy), barely smaller than a golf ball; this nearly fills (stops) your mouth and changes colour as you suck off the layers. "Gobstoppingly" presumably means that the book was so bad he couldn't speak. BTW although the noun "gob" means "mouth" (shut your gob or I'll shut it for you), it also means "spittle", and the verb "to gob" means "to spit" (never gob to windward). "Gob" is also used to mean a sailor in the US Navy. While "gob" usually means "mouth", it's also used to mean the entire face when it appears as "ugly gob". |
Aiduza, браво!!! :))))) в ирландском фольклоре (во всяком случае в моем детстве) было: gobshite = arsehole (или арсхолоподобные) gob = жрать так как контекста нет - продолжаем экскурс в детство: on your rothair = f#ck off (дословно on your bicycle) - экспрессию надо слышать. (кому интересно произношение - за пинтой могу рассказать) могут, даже, в торец дать :))))))) |
м быть "кляп", в т числе в переносном смысле, "фонтан", который надо заткнуть, может быть "под завязку", м быть что-то неприличное :) |
