What does “grandparent group” mean?
Each MC principal member has a grandparent group identifier. This grandparent identifier is used by MC to identify principal members that are related to other principal members by ownership. One principal member can own the other, or all the principal members in the grandparent group may be owned by a common parent organization. The 15% limitation is computed based on the aggregate total stock owned by all stockholders in the grandparent group.

In the case of a merger at the holding company level, where the parent company of one stockholder is acquired by the parent company of another stockholder, each of the merging stockholders will retain its Principal membership but must change its Grandparent Designation.
