Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:
Variations in the hydrodynamic conditions of a paper machine stock approach system can cause cross streaks and weight variations in the sheet being produced.

Вариации гидродинамических условий в системе подвода массы БДМ могут приводить к браку (поперечной полосатости, свили) и отклонениям граммажа в выпускаемом листе.

Please consider:

cross streaks - полосы на бумаге в поперечном направлении (CD - cross machine direction)

in the sheet being produced - в вырабатываемом/получаемом бумажном полотне

Sheet = web - полотно

На правах IMHO
