Subject: Да что мне-то? Can anyone help me with this? I think it should be along the following lines.How should I know? Can anyone elaborate, or tell me if I'm on the right lines. I know it's tricky and inexact but the above show the context - someone asking for an opinion the other doesn't feel qualified to give. tA! |

can have different overtones depending on context. Normally it means "Why should I care?" |

Actually it is more often "Да мне-то что?". The line as given by you sounds quite awkward, still - and I am guessing here - if it is curtailed version of Да что [Вы] мне-то [задаете этот вопрос]? than it can indeed be rendered as you suggested in the opening post. |
