Subject: капать на мозги Как лучше сказать "капать на мозги", в смысле что-то надоедливое, что не дает покоя.

pester, bother , plague , annoy |
consider: get on sb's case be on sb's ass be/go on at sb get on sb's tits nat at sb |
по-моему, не "nat at sb" a "nag at sb" |
2torq точно, как всегда где-нибудь вляпаюсь |
or even 'to nag smb'... but stylisticly I would consider "getting onto somebody's tits" i.e "доставать" |

you can say that someone or something gets your/his/her/thier/my knickers all in a twist/bunch |
Hmm....I'd translate this knickers idiom as "закусить удила"... never heard it used to describe something annoying before. |

SHUMOV IF IT GETS YOUR KNICKERS IN A TWIST IT IS ANNOYING.... JUST THINK, YOUR KNICKERS ALL TWISTED AROUND IN YOUR PANTS - VERY ANNOYING SITUATION WE USE THIS PHRASE BOTH WAYS:)as "закусить удила" AND TO SAY THAT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE IS ANNOYING |
Susan, In Russian it could sound like разозлиться, выйти из себя, завестись, couldn't it? |
Lingvo get one's knickers in a twist He gets his knickers in a twist over trifles — Он нервничает из-за пустяков She gets her knickers in a twist about the smallest thing — Ее может сбить с толку сущий пустяк |
My dear gogolesque2! There's no need to SHOUT whatsoever.)) It's all very well/ I am far from saying that the usage unfamiliar to me is 100% incorrect. That is to say - all of the above = IMHO. |
+ to bug smb |
