Fig.3 shows graphs of face length v. nameplate capacity for armoured face conveyors using 48 and 52 mm chain size. The power levels have been selected suitable for adequate torque whilst still ensuring adequate chain factors against breakage or elongation. There is no reason, given reasonably flat conditions, why a 500 m face with a nameplate capacity of around 4000 t per hour, cannot be installed.
