It has already become a Russian tradition that new laws are introduced just before New Year▓s Eve. Last year was no exception to the rule and we received as a gift a federal law on the Amendments and Additions to certain legislative acts relating to the creation of the Russian International Ship Register published on the 23rd of December 2005 and coming into force from the date of its official publication (for the changes to the Sea Navigation Code) or one month after this date (for the changes to the Tax Code and the law on customs tariffs). With this move, an important stage in the creation of the Russian International Ship Register, which has been under way for almost 6 years, has been reached.
