part time education can also apply to a person who is not matriculated, ie, not part of a specific learning program, just taking courses without expectation of a diploma. these courses/classes can be at any time of day, not necessarily evening. continuing education is usually in evenings. in the US at least |

С пунктами 1 и 5 не согласна (основываясь на своем канадском опыте). Просто учеба занимает дольше времени, а диплом будет точно таким же, как и у full-time студентов (если, конечно, пройти необходимую программу). Минимальное кол-во кредитных часов тоже варьируется. Student Status: Full-time and Part-time Full-time students are those students registered in at least 60 per cent of the credit hours of the full year program for their faculty or school. Part-time students are students who are registered in less than 60 per cent of the credit hours of the full year program for their faculty or school. | To Irisha: Так у них и так практически все студенты работают. Не на производстве, конечно, а в сфере услуг, в офисах и т.д. |

| 2 Дакота: Для того, чтобы получить диплом или степень, нужно зарегистрироваться на программу. В большинстве учебных заведений курсы, пройденные как part-time, после регистрации могут быть переведены в программу и тогда, после окончания программы, студент получает степень или диплом. |
| Суммируя вышесказанное: это и не вечернее, и не заочное образование. У нас аналогов пока вроде нет (???). По ассоциации с неполной рабочей неделей можно обозвать неполной академической неделей. Или просто вдаться в долгие объяснения, сопровождаемые обильной жестикуляцией. |
