Subject: The Russian version of Romulus and Remus
Please, help to translate:

The names "Romulus" and "Remus" into their Russian equivalent

Phrase is used in the following sentence:

The legend of Romulus, founder of Rome, and his twin brother, Remus, who were raised by a wolf.

We have two orphan Borzoi puppies who were adopted by a Malamute. She willingly accepted them as her own puppies and nursed them through the first two weeks of their lives. We want to name them "Romulus" and "Remus" after the legend, but we want the names to be in Russian. Or at least sound Russian.

* Can you help us with a translation?
* Is there a similar legend in Russian? If so, what were those boys' names?

Many thanks in advance,

This Roman legend is well known in Russia.
The names sound in russian as Romul [romool] (open O, u - like in "tool") and Rem [rem] (e - like in "ten").

Cindy,as ho just mentioned, Russians simply omit the Latin ending "-us", and that's it.
Example:
Saulus turned Paulus = Савл стал Павлом
