Subject: ZAGS welf. Please help me to find the way of saying this in English:"SPRAVKA DANA DLYA PRED'YAVLENIYA PO MESTU TREBOVANIYA" I've already used the "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN" title at the top of the document. |

How do you translate these damned Spravkas? |

Thank G-d! I've just remembered a cliche: "This reference is to be presented upon request." |

Your response has been highly appreciated, Sir/Madam! |
Справка - я перевожу как certificate, для предоставления ... - можно как for submission to |
In this case I would use the good old word 'document' i.e. 'present this document on request.' Spravka is a Russian thing and as such there is no real equivalent for all those silly little bureaucratic pieces of paper you poor buggers have to collect to prance from one government department to the next. Hence, document. Otherwise your translation is perfect. |
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN -bingo Cnpabka - certificate ZAGS-ZAGS, можно в скобках дать поясняющий перевод. |
