It's known that Taḳiyyeddin used eight astronomical instruments, an astronomical clock, and a special compass for drawing large radius circles in the Istanbul Observatory. Six of these instruments were known to their Greek and Arab predecessors and later went through a certain stage of development, especially at the Meraga Observatory. It’s known that the two instruments used in the observatory were invented by Takiyyeddin himself.

The Beam Tool The instrument used in the Istanbul Observatory was invented by Takiyyeddin in 1576. This measuring instrument was used to locate the solstice in the zodiac.
