Unlike PVC-U, PP and HDPE have a melting temperature, that is to say, a temperature above which there is a destruction of the crystalline mesh and the change of state from solid to liquid. The melting temperature of PP is approximately 165°C, whilst that of HDPE is approximately 134°C.
