DC arc plasmatron comprising a rod cathode and a nozzle anode connected to a power supplying unit, means feeding plasma-forming gas into inter-electrode space and a channel mixing technological gas with plasma flow, the said channel being made as a through metal pipe oriented predominantly normally to the said nozzle axis and the anode being connected to the side wall of the said channel wherein the said channel is made flat with thickness Н=(1…3)А where А is the diameter of the anode outlet hole, the said anode is connected to the middle of the wide wall of the channel, the width B of the outlet part of the channel and its inlet part’s width C are related as В3АС and the both said channel portions are connected with the linearly divergent diffuser for which the position of side walls upon a front projection is determined with tangents to a circle inscribed into the outlet part of the said technologic channel and touching the axis of the anode outlet hole. 2. Plasmatron of claim 1 wherein its technologic channel is smoothly turned 90 in the direction of plasma flow along the cathode-anode axis and the beginning of the said turn is shifted from the anode axis in the downstream direction by not less than 2A distance. 3. Plasmatron of claim 1 wherein a flat probe is inserted flush with the wall of the technologic channel opposite the nozzle anode in the vicinity of its location and the said probe is connected to the cathode through a variable resistor while the said circuit is equipped with means for its volt-ampere characteristic measurements. 4. Plasmatron of claim 1 and 3 wherein an electric spark arc igniter is used as a startup unit connected to the cathode directly and to the said probe through a selector “startup-measurements” with its middle point hooked to the probe.
