Подскажите, пожалуйста, правильно ли я понимаю, что под mode в отрывке ниже подразумевается мода (определение ниже курсивом из другого источника)?

И как правильно перевести mode at 62 μm?

Powder characterization

The mode of the particle size distribution (PSD) for the unreinforced 2124-Al alloy powder was 74 μm. Figure 4a shows that the addition of 5 vol.% Al 2 O 3  to the 2124-Al powder caused no difference to the shape or mode of the PSD curves for batches 2 and 3 (mode of 74 μm), but the mode of batch 1 was 62.23 μη , indicating breakage of some 2124-Al particles. There was less scatter with 10 vol.% Al 2 O 3  addition (Figure 4b) with PSD modes of batches 2 and 3 between 62 and 74 μm and the mode of batch 1 at 62 μm. MODE 

The mode is the peak of the frequency distribution, or it may be easier to visualize it as the highest peak seen in the distribution. The mode represents the particle size (or size range) most commonly found in the distribution. Less care is taken to denote whether the value is based on volume, surface or number, so either run the risk of assuming volume basis or check to assure the distribution basis. The mode is not as commonly used, but can be descriptive; in particular if there is more than one peak to the distribution, then the modes are helpful to describe the mid-point of the different peaks.

Про mode всё равно пока не понятно.

я бы поняла так:

mode of the PSD curves for batches 2 and 3 (mode of 74 μm), but the mode of batch 1 was 62.23 μη

мода распределения на кривой PSD для партий 2 и 3 (мода частиц 74 мкм), но мода в партии 1 была равна 62,23 мкм

т.е. в партиях 2 и 3 было больше всего частиц размером 74 мкм, а в партии 1 - 62,23 мкм
