В Google есть "sifter fitted with #16 sieve". 2) S.S. (из нержавеющей стали) довольно часто повторяется в тексте. Эти слова каждый раз нужно полностью прописывать или есть какое-нибудь стандартное сокращение? Или их просто убрать можно в некоторых местах? |

If it's an American text, 'a #16 sieve' could possibly mean 'a sieve in which the wires in the mesh are 1/16 inch apart'. That's just an intelligent guess, though. If so, you may need to convert it from one-sixteenth of an inch to the equivalent metric value. (In the UK, most branches of science and technology gradually switched from imperial measurements to metric ones 30-50 years ago, but imperial measurements are still in widespread use in much of the USA. The Fahrenheit scale is also still commonly used to measure temperatures in the USA, whereas the UK converted to Centigrade/Celsius 40 years ago). |
