After each use, the instrument must be cleaned in accordance with the appropriate hospital procedure. BIOMET Arthroscopy recommends the following cleaning steps for all instruments that have a flush port or closed tube design:
• Remove flush port cap(s) from devices.
• Submerge the instrument(s) and flush port cap(s) in an enzymatic detergent safe for use with metal instruments soon after they leave the sterile field. Prepare the detergent according to the manufacture’s recommendations.
• Flush the port with at least 10ml of enzymatic detergent while actuating the thumb loop.
