Statistical Analysis
Boar was the experimental unit for all of the variables
analyzed. Any individual observation that was greater
than ±3 SD from the mean was considered an outlier for
each variable and removed from the data set. This resulted
in no more than 8 observations removed from any
single variable. Of the 390 ejaculates collected, 22 were
discarded at the stud and not processed for sale (14 were
discarded for poor morphology, 3 for poor total motility, 1
for low concentration, and 4 not described). This resulted
in 368 ejaculates evaluated statistically.
