Product Distribution Centers (PDC) & Finish to Order (FTO) Centers may receive assemblies that are considered “Partly Completed Machinery” under the EU Machinery Directive.
In limited situations, after review and approval by Legal Services Division, the PDC / FTO Center may complete the machines including generator sets before shipping to dealers or customers.
This Section (4) applies only to these approved products completed at the PDC / FTO Center.
As with finished machines including generator sets leaving the manufacturing facilities, Partly Completed Machinery that is completed at a PDC / FTO Center must also be assigned a Year of Manufacture and the year accurately recorded in SIMSi.
Additionally, machines including generator sets completed at the PDC / FTO Center must be labeled with the Year of Manufacture as outlined in Section 1 above.
The Year of Manufacture will be, at the latest, based on Post Goods Issue date (Mach 1 facilities) or Final Plant Ship date (CMOPS facilities) assigned to the dealer sales order at the PDC / FTO Center.
If, however, machines including generator sets are finished at the PDC / FTO Center and then held in inventory or there is otherwise a delay before the Post Goods Issue date or Final Plant Ship date, a Year of Manufacture must be assigned based on the point at which the machines including generator sets were completed, as defined in Section 2 above.
In addition, PDC / FTO Center personnel must perform the final construction and assign the Year of Manufacture no later than 200 calendar days after Build Date (see section 6 – Production Reporting below).
In such situations where Post Goods Issue/Final Plant Ship date does not accurately reflect manufacturing process completion at the PDC / FTO Center, the following manual override process must be followed.
The Product Manager overseeing a project for completion of machines at a PDC / FTO Center must identify a responsible person to override any systematically applied dates in the SIMSi Year of Manufacture field, by emailing a “Request for Authorization” to “Year of Manufacture – Machines” at the beginning of such project.
Facility personnel and PDC / FTO Center authorized persons are responsible to ensure the Year of Manufacture in SIMSi (if applicable) and the Year indicated on the machine and generator set PIN plate, CE mark, EAC mark, or auxiliary plate attached to the machines including generator sets are the same and comply with this Enterprise Procedure.
