Subject: waiting lights? gen. Такое словосочетание встретилось в тексте про осветительную технику автомобилей. Там встречаются rear waiting lights и front waiting lights.Подскажите пожалуйста как это перевести |

Дайте, пожалуйста, пару абзацев текста, в которых эти сочетания вам встретились Похоже, как-то вы их вырезали из текста с нарушением логики. |
| Поскольку в Гугле словосочетание "waiting lights" не находится, то это, скорее всего, выдумка сочинивших текст не носителей. Может, просто габаритные огни и все? |

Эти два словосочетания идут в списке перечисления, после: No vehicle shall be equipped with red lights or reflectors giving off a red color whether from the front, rear, or the sides except those specified in the following: Может тут вообще как-нибудь перепутали и написали это вместо, скажем *warning lights*?.. |

а список перечисления где? этими и ограничивается двумя позициями? Весь список с предыдущим и последующими предложениями дайте! Можно подумать, скопировать его сюда нужно чтобы, придется вручную его набивать |

I've never heard of 'waiting lights'. The terms used in the US for car lights differ from those used in the UK. The Americans talk of 'parking lights', though. Here are the US and UK names of the different types of car light if interested -- see in particular the section 'Conspicuity, signal and identification lights'. However, you won't find 'waiting lights' amongst them -- I've checked! |
