'Person-trip' works in the same way as 'man-hours' and 'man-days' -- it means 'the equivalent of one trip made by one person'. So if one person makes three trips a day, that's equivalent to 3 x person-trips per day. But if, each time, the person travels with his wife and two brothers, that's equivalent to 3 x trips x 4 = 12 person-trips a day. And if the person travels alone but only goes on a trip every two days, that's half a person-trip a day. And so on. |

Erdferkel +1+1 Political correctness reigns. Lots of words in English with 'man' in them, especially post and job titles, are gradually being changed to more neutral words in which the 'man'/'woman' element is dropped. For example.... * 'chairman' is gradually being replaced by 'chairperson' or, more commonly, just 'chair'. Strange but true. 'Chairman' is still widely used, though. and so on. |
