Airworthiness Release or Conformity Certificate
The EASA Form 1, when used as a release certificate as addressed in 21A.165(c)(2) and (3), may be
issued in two ways:
• As an airworthiness release, only when by virtue of the arrangement described in 21A.133(b)
and (c), it can be determined that the part conforms to the approved design data and is in condition for
safe operation.

• As a conformity Certificate, only when by virtue of the arrangement described in 21A.133(b)
and (c), it can be determined that the part conforms to applicable design data which is not (yet)
approved, for a reason that is indicated in block 12. Parts released with an EASA Form 1 as a
conformity Certificate are not eligible for installation in a type-certificated aircraft.
The EASA Form 1 should only be used for Conformity release purposes when it is possible to indicate
the reason that prevents its issue as for airworthiness release purposes.
