Коллеги, очень прошу помочь разобраться, что в следующем контексте может означать tight..Vessel to be tight, staunch and strong, classed to be so mantained for the duration of the voyage with the distance between water line to top of hatch covers fully ballasted as per Seller’s agent request. | У них в тексте до этого предложения и после встречалось water tight. Предполагала, что может и это - герметичный, но сомневалась... Спасибо! |

судя по ватерлинии, это про судно, а не про сосуд под давлением? тогда я за "водонепроницаемый" (пусть нас поправит Туманов!) так как-то покорабельнее, да и "герметичное судно" -- это всё-таки особый случай |

в этом конексте оно не должно "иметь водотечности" я бы так сказал но при этом бы открыл уже переведенную проформу и взял полную формулировку предложения оттуда |

tumanov, спасибо, учту Ваши замечания! Речь о судне, перевозящем цемент.. Можно ли в этой же ветке еще вопрос? Мне тема эта морская абсолютно нова... Any time used due to the vessel ballasting/deballasting or for reasons of trimming or listing not to count as laytime. Подскажите, пожалуйста, listing здесь что-то с креном связанное? Мультитран дает для trimming несколько, включая распределение груза в трюме, что мне бы подошло по контексту. Или тут что-то о выравнивании судна.. Прошу не ругать сильно. |

A ship is said to be listing when it is heeled (tipped) to one side. "List" refer to the uneven side to side floating of a ship while "trim" refers to the uneven fore and aft (bow to stern) floating of a ship. |
