Rotating Pipe Flange Bolt Holes to Straddle a Vertical Center Line
This question is Not Answered.
For example, let us say that you have an existing pipe route with an 8-bolt-hole pipe flange straddling the vertical center line at one end, and you want to start a new pipe route, beginning with a matching 8-bolt-hole pipe flange to be bolted to the existing one. My experience has been that about 75% of the time, the new flange that is brought in snaps into place, and the software performs as expected. On other occasions, for no apparent reason, when the new flange is brought in, a flange bolt hole goes to the 12:00 position. If this flange could be rotated 22 1/2 degrees, then it would line up. However, the smallest Component Rotation Increment is 1 degree, so the precision is not there for a 22 1/2 degree rotation. When one is creating a pipe route, is there a convenient method to force pipe flange bolt holes to consistently align and straddle their vertical center lines?
