What is the difference between a grout pour and a grout lift?A grout pour is the total height of masonry that is grouted before the erection of additional masonry. A grout pour can be made of several grout lifts. A grout lift is the height of grout that is placed at one time. After each lift is placed, the grout must be consolidated and allowed to become plastic before the next lift is poured. The next lift, however, must be placed before the grout lift below undergoes its initial set. The Masonry Standards Joint Committee Code (ACI 530/ASCE5/TMS402), limits the height of a grout lift to 5 feet.
