Это два разных дефекта
один — stretch = растяжение звеньев
второй — bends = изгиб звеньев

запятая пропущена

Не соглашусь: изгиб звеньев - это их черта, при условии деформации с растяжением изменяется и их форма и угол.

потому что stretch bend переводится не как "изгиб звеньев", а как "изгиб растяжения"

Давайте все-таки уважать значения английских слов, которые в них вкладывают люди, для кого английский язык родной.
Не будем наделять их своими желаемыми значениями.

Ваша точка зрения подкреплена иллюстративно. Но!
Ссылки выше не объясяют ничего о stretch bends.
Как указано в нашем случае, деформируется металл под влиянием растяжения, в углах потенциального излома.
