Contractor should justify the maximum continuous length of piperack sections, which should be restricted in order to limit thermal stresses in the structures. Contractor shall provide thermal expansion joints between sections that will also prevent direct load transfer between sections. The location of braced bays and expansion joints should be determined by the Contractor during detail design, based on final pipe/cable configurations and loads.
