| sophisticated - это вообще-то сложный. Т.е. схема была (оказалась) не очень сложной |

Major reasons were as follows: short-term variations of surface properties were averaged within a longer period (a month or more) and seasonal differences were much more important than daily fluctuations, as well as large-scale geographical differences in climate and lands. Dry deposition fluxes were calculated using air pollutant concentrations by the following formula: |

В Лингве (компьютеры) дается "sophisticated model" - усложнённая модель, модель высокой сложности. И причиной того, что модель была простой, как раз и является то, что краткосрочные изменения усредняли внутри более продолжительного периода, а сезонные различия были более значительными, чем дневные колебания... и т.д. |
