The flangeback dimension is written directly into the contact data file.
This dimension is used in the simulation of check rails, as the wheel profiles will not necessarily
contain profile data all the way round the flange to the flangeback. The value of the flangeback
must therefore be specified accurately if check rail simulations are performed. An example
extract from a wheel profile file is given below.
