President’s last way home

The body of President Lech Kaczyński, who died in a plane crash on the territory of Russia on April 10th, 2010, returned home. It was the time for Polish people to say goodbye to their president.

At the military airport in Warsaw where Lech Kaczyński’s body arrived on Sunday afternoon president’s family and high rank officials kneeled before the casket to pay tribute to the deceased. After short ceremonies the casket was slowly transported through the streets of the city. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered along the way to see the mournful procession make its way to the Presidential Palace. They were waving Polish flags, throwing flowers and staring sadly as the car was passing. The crowd of mourners was so thick in some places that it was nearly impossible to get through.

The country has begun a week-long period of mourning.

I think I like 'We are going the same way' best. Not very catchy but it explains things fine.
