Subject: quantity take-off construct.

Перевожу материал по составлению смет в строительстве. Не могу понять, что такое quantity take-off.

Waste is an issue of concern at the quantity takeoff for any are of construction.

или вот другое предложение:
Hold-downs, hangers, and other connectors should be taken off by piece.

quantity take off - снижение объемов
taken off by piece - уменьшены в количестве

Опечатка вышла :) там должно быть - for any AREA of construction. Простите, плиз)))

Да, походу это отдельная область составления сметы, где расчет ведется именно по количеству.

И тогда и получается, что taken off by piece - что эти детали рассчитываются в смете поштучно.
