Subject: the undecipherable abbreviation/acronym Morning all!I'm looking for examples of abbreviations and acronyms in Russian which have given you serious headaches when looking for the English. I need ones which can be interpreted to mean different things or which are simply undecipherable to even most Russians. e.g. Thanks! |

Susan, actually the ones you cited are very easy for most Russians: 8-е оперативно-розыскное бюро Департамента экономической безопасности Министерства внутренних дел Российской Федерации Следственное управление Следственного комитета при прокуратуре Российской Федерации Most difficult are corporate abbreviations specific for the particular company. |
