Subject: работать на компьютере. Здравствуйте, пожалуйста, помогите перевести выражение "работать на компьютере".Выражение встречается в следующем контексте (контрольная работа): Джейн – секретарь менеджера. В 10 часов она обычно работает на компьютере. Сейчас она печатает письмо. У нее всегда много работы. Заранее спасибо |

silly.wizard, ну все же я бы поостереглась преводить фразу "Джейн - секретарь менеджера" как 'jane's manager's girl'. Мой вариант: 'Jane works as manager's secretary'. |

at 10:00 she's usually working on the computer or at the computer silly wizard - to say "on the computer" denotes that she is not doing work, rather she is simply doing something on the computer that interests her |

chrismonroe, yes, sure... in the context though, the entire series of sentences is about her work, so i figured it is unnecessary to reiterate the "work" thing in every one of them.... as a side note, when someone is on the computer, can you *really* be certain about what they do ;) |
