3.1 Conventions used in programming
In the following pages, reference will be made to certain types of data, the
characteristics of which are illutsrated below:
Type Characteristics
Target Numeric value with an uncontrolled range expressed in millimeters or
inches, depending on how the CNC has been set up.
Numeric Numeric value, the range of which can be controlled (depends on the
context) and not affected by the set up in millimeters have been set.
Used to expressed linear or rotational speeds, operating modes, etc..
Name Indicates the name of a file. Can have a complete patgh or just
indicate the name. In this latter case, the file will be in the same
directory as the edited program.
String Specifies a portion of free text.
