Subject: offshore quality
Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.
offshore quality, встречается в брошюре про яхту
вот в таком контексте
All sails of high quality durable Polyant offshore quality.

и еще вопрос - что это за цвет такой "sail color"???????????
контекст Staysail with furling system and sunstrip in sail color.

in sail color - цвета парусины?

*there are two colors called sail and they are definitely shades of gray, not white.*

Sails made from any cloth are best rolled, as this does less damage to the cloth finish than the creasing that is inevitably involved in folding or flaking sails. Roller furler systems have this advantage, although it does mean the sail is left to the battering of the elements while it is up there, particularly sunlight. That's the importance of the sunstrip.

Имхо, речь в предложении (про которое спрашивают) идет о санстрипе того же цвета, что и парус.

How to sew on a new UV sun strip on furling Genoa?

I am converting my hank on genoa to a furling.
When I attach the sunbrella uv strip do I need to hem it and wrap it around the other side of the foot and leach - say 1" wrap around?

as you say one is to fold about 1" of the UV cloth over the side: depending on the shape of the leech (convex/concave) and the length of the sunbrella panels you may have to slit the cloth in places, otherwise it will crease when folded

another one is to sew the sunbrella even with the leech, then add a UV resistent dacron cloth strip over both of them: this strip is about 6-8cm long, 3cm sewn on one side and 3cm on the other side of the sail; it allows more adjustment

there is a very well made article on www.sailrite.com it explains a lot of details, also how to compute the width of the foot and leech panels to get an even cover with the furled sail

50' UV Insignia Suncover Kit

The best fabrics for sacrificial use are Sunbrella® and 4oz Insignia UV Dacron®. The Dacron® is much lighter than the Sunbrella® so it is a good choice for boats under 30 feet or so, but Sunbrella® has unparalleled durability in sunlight which makes it the most common choice.

The sacrificial strip should be wide enough to span the gap between the edge of the sail as it is rolled onto the forestay plus about 6 inches (to allow for sloppy furling). If the sail is not available for measurement in its furled state, the table below can be used to determine width.
