This is the most well known mountain range in the lower US. This mountain range extends from the Canadian border all the way down to New Mexico. The range is almost 2000 miles long and is part of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. Many of the tallest, biggest mountain peaks are part of the Rocky Mountain ranges.
Appalachian Mountains
This is another well known mountain range that starts in Newfoundland (Canada) and reaches down into the northern Mississippi. The term Appalachia refers to several different regions associated with the mountain range. Most broadly, it refers to the entire mountain range with its surrounding hills and the dissected plateau region
