Subject: НА Новый Год ПОД бой курантов 1)Кто-нибудь сталкивался именно с выражением на новый год без слов Eve или Day. Знаю что в новогоднюю ночь(в канун нового года) будет on New Year's Eve.Меня волнует предлог. AT New Year?or ON New Year? 2)Как лучше сказать "под бой курантов" Конечно можно сказать When the bells are chiming. But maybe there are better variants) Many thanxxxx)) |

New Year's Eve - это скорее сам день перед Новым годом, т.е. 31 января. выпить под бой курантов - предлагаю "raise glasses [while listening] to the chimes of Kremlin bells" или что-то вроде этого. |
| поправка - bells здесь лишние, так что "... to the chimes of Kremlin tower(s)" (?) |
