| I've never seen this, but my guess is they are asking the applicant whether he/she, just like a bond, will yield a return on their investment. |

Про коммуникабельность не подойдет, так как рядом стоит Details if Yes а под, в скобочках must be 16 years of age or older. |

нет, это достаточно специализированный термин. Например, лицо, намеревающееся стать членом совета дир-ров крупной компании, может иногда столкнуться с требованием "принести страховку профессиональной ответственности" - (bring, buy, secure) a bond. Не все страховые компании и не всякому человеку таковую дадут. Ведь пределов проф. отв-сти , как мы видели, напр., в деле Энрона - нет. Sky is the limit |

| V is right on the money with his explanation. I would only add that some home cleaning or moving companies require that their employees be bonded. In fact sometimes as a client of a company you may want to make sure their personnel is bonded. For example, if you are hiring someone to move your pressious furniture or come clean your office, which is hung with authentic Rembrandts and littered with Faberge’s eggs, you may want to make sure that your cleaning company is bonded. That was, if any of these objet d'Arte "walk out" of your office, you would be compensated. |

Можешь ли ты быть материально ответственным? is a question aimed at a particular individual's qualities. When a company bonds you, they usually do a background check on you and look into your financial history. For example, I think, if you have large amounts of debt, you may not be bondable. You can be a very responsible person per se, but they may refuse to bond you. The company that bond you is a separate entity. It is not necessarily related to your employer. It's like insurance company (as V explained). I don't think that bonding is used, or even exists, in Russia in the same sense it does in the U.S. When thinking about an adequate Russian term, I would probably consider terms related to "страховка", "залог", "закладная". |
