Subject: more 2 sides of a horseshoe
I can't quite see the point of the new double beds in Virgin - more 2 sides of a horseshoe then actually adjoining.
Первая-то часть предложения понятна, а вторая - какая-то идиома. Помогите перевести, пожалуйста.

I don't think it is an idiom. I think what is described here is a new double bed, introduced by Vergin airline for their Upper-Class passengers.

Could not find an actual picture of the "beast", but links below can give you an idea what it might look like: two airplane seats converted into a bed больше напоминают подкову, чем настоящую двуспальную постель.

That's exactly what the author means: it's not really a double bed, it's more like two beds connected at the top. Just like a horseshoe.

sure. it's just a typo - surely they meant "thAn adjoining", not "then..."
That's all there is to it...
