The vpMotionFly strategy is a more complex mathematical model of an aircraft. It includes aerodynamic effects, is fully aerobatics, and uses a quaternion based system of angular integrations. Integration is of the simple form x + dx so low update rates will cause problems with stability. The math model is of a six degree-of-freedom point mass with damped second order rotations. Thrust vectoring is implemented in pitch such that a helicopter or VTOL aircraft can be simulated, and a low speed attitude control system is selectable when aerodynamic forces become negligible.
