spa is not necessarily kurort. in fact, it meant kurort in the 19th century. it is where jane austen's characters would go. nowadays spa refers to a beauty and wellness center that provides a full range of theraputic services, eg. water, mud treatment, excersie, massages, sauna, pool, etc. of course, some of u may say, well, this IS kurort; but modern spas can be found downtown - helena rubenstein on 5th ave in nyc, for ex. i dont think u can call something like THAT a kurort. i would say, она стремится создать в комнане флюиды покоя и безмятежности, способствующие расслаблению. russian is not my forte, though. so just tweak it to ur liking, ok? just dont translate spa as kurort. |

| Да, верно, "спа" в этом значении уже давно и в русском есть, хотя на письме это слово, наверно, странно выглядит. Буквально сегодня говорил на тему всяких "спа" со знакомой :-) Но "атмосфера" все-таки лучше "флюидов", имхо :-) |

to talgat: I know that the exact meaning of "spa" is курорт. But i don"t like it, it doesn"t surve the purpose i need. I really neadeed smth. like Slava"s translation. This way, it makes the sence i needed. |
