Subject: "корзиночка" для конфеты
Коллеги, подскажите, пожалуйста, название "корзиночки" для конфет - например как у Ив Роше - бумажная штучка в которую кладут каждую конфету.
Очень надеюсь на помощь.

well, i dont know what the french would call it, my french is just a touch rusty, but in american english, u may call it a candy holder. candy holders are popular in the good old us of a as christmas or halloween crafts, and many an american, old and young alike, spends quite a few hours labouring away at those do-it-urself holders. on the plus side, they make good x-mas gifts, especially for people who already have everything and for whom presents with personal touches are more important. tal'

А пирожные и всякие кексы в таких корзиночках называются "cupcake".

candy wrapper
Ferrero Rocher are small, spherical sweets made by Ferrero SpA.

The sweets consist of a wafer shell filled with hazelnut cream and covered in milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. The sweets are individually packaged in a gold-coloured wrapper.

slavster, nah, u wouldnt call THAT a cupcake in english, at least not in its americna variety. a cupcake is not a cake in a cup, as u might have intuitively, but wronly inferred. a cupcake is simply a small cake with icing on top baked in a muffin mould. it is served by itself or encased in a thing translucent wrapping. tal'

To talgat: I'm not sure if "a cupcake" is British or American and whether it has an icing on top, but I'm pretty sure I've had a lot of them in paper "cups", and you remove the cup before eating. Those were definitely called "cupcakes".

slav, those r muffins u r talking about. cupcake is DEFINETELY american english. british usage would be fairy cake, which for americans wouldnt sound "straight" lol tal'

"fairy" you mean "faggot"? :-)) That's the word I heard from my American roommate :-)
OK, muffins and cupcakes and stuff, tomorrow I'm going to check it out with someone :-)

Well, at least this is what my Longman/or Collins (no idea, the cover is missing:-)) says:

cupcake - a small cake baked in a cup-shaped foil or paper case.
