Econometric modellers using the new data find that changes in services quality are not accounted for in prices, that barriers to trade in services by their nature cannot be reduced to ‘tariff equivalents’ for the equations employed, and the survey data, forming the basis for imputing value added and estimating volumes, are compiled using statistical sampling techniques that vary across service sectors due to their heterogeneity and as between countries when considering comparability.
