Subject: не вписался в поворот Уважаеые коллеги, есть ли у вас предположения, как лучше перевести фразы "не вписался в поворот" и "невидимый вооруженным глазом". Второе выражение встречается в контексте - "невидимая невооруженным глазом плекнка атмосферной влаги". - unseen with the naked eye?Спасибо за любую помощь. |

ms801, Unlike with the naked truth, I think "seen/visible with/by naked eye" is perfectly acceptable without any article. (That is not to say that it's wrong to use one.) Am I imagining things and/or simply mistaken along with some other writers and editors? |

I guess, you could say "with A naked eye" theoretically, but it still sounds a little off to me, since the whole things is a set phrase. I have never heard it without an article. I wish I could provide some authoritative source other than my gut feeling on this.... |
