Bear in mind, however, that "beneficiary" requires context as it can mean different things. In addition to the above (lgotnik) it can mean: Person for whose benefit property is held in trust; person to whom another is in a fiduciary relation, whether the relation is one of agency, trust, guradianship, partenrship or otherwise; one for whose benefit a trust is created; person named in an insurance policy as the one to reeive proceeds or benefits acruing thereunder; person named ina will to receive certain property is a beneficiary under a will, contingnet benficiary, favored beneficiary, thrid party beneficiary, etc. |
| What I mean is, in the use you suggest, it is necessary to specify that they are, for instance, social secruities beneficiary, otherwise it can be misleading. Which is why I was asking you for context in my first posting. |

| 2Flor - I would think a Dole recipient, but it would still be incorrect as it is place specific to the UK. United States has welfare benefits or social security if you're retired. Germany has Sozial (not sure how you spell it) and so on. |
