language-speaker, probably? |
or "specialist having a great command of languages" |
with good foreign language skills ??? |
specialist with a perfect command of languages |
Вопрос ставится четко: can you read?, can you speak?, can you write?, и в каждом разделе (по-моему) три качественные градации. Так что "знание языка" - удел крутых лингвистов, а остальные (как в этом сабже) - can read, can speak, can write English... |
well, i s'pose firewall ain't working for UN anyway... |
a professional with working knowledge of foreign languages - working knowledge presumes the person knows enough of it to work, not fluency. |
(although the above does not deny fluency. but people who are fluent usually accentuate this fact). |
and vice-versa 8) |
maybe proficient in (...language) |
with good commands in English... |
"Comme d'habitude, il a rate une excellente occasion de se taire" (c) ;-) ну, Витя, тогда уж, если на то пошло, то ... good command of English Foot-in-mouth disease, как и было сказано... |
professional with foreign language experience lol foot in mouth disease, lol that is priceless. u r a little harsh on our guinea friend here, though (ok, that was not very pc, so dont y'all crucify me for that) |
hey, V: that's how they put in a newspaper ad: good commands in English, i am not making anything up, it's just a brief version, --- that's how it goes , everybody knows... (C) |
by the way , what's pc? |
To Vittorio: предполагаю political correct |
hey, v: no, the job ads like these have been published in reputable north american newspapers and have been used in oral speach quite often, well , the way the question was asked it looked to me as it was taken from the job ad or from the resume, responding to this job, i never use google, 'cause i do not need it, with respect to the 'слепо и малокритично верить газетам', yeh, well, for one,i don't trust blindly anyone... you go you buy let's say New York Times, Time magazine or Globe and Mail just to read, and whatever you read you try to analyze it, and newspapers also set the standards, in a certain way. it's a broad issue... , anyway i am not that bad if not the opposite, so far a lot of people with high social status and positons are happy wiht my interpreting. good luck. p.s. your phone is ringing, it's prince charles...:)), say hi from me |
tanx... |
kis, essie, kath and talgat imho came up with some very good options alternatively, one often sees ads specifying " good (written and spoken) English language skills". That also sounds kosher |
