Subject: probe cocktail med. In vitro studies indicate that the primarily oxidative metabolism of eltrombopag is metabolised by CYP 1A2 and CYP2C8. However a probe cocktail study (SB-497115/002) demonstrated the eltrombopag did not inhibit or induce the metabolism of probe substrates for CYP1A2 (caffeine), CYP2C19 (omeprazole), CYP2C9 (flurbiprofen), or CYP3A4 (midazolam) in humans. This information may be useful in guiding selection of medications or non-drug therapies that may be necessary during the course of the study.
