The advantages here apart from visual are obvious since the alloy caliper will weigh significantly less than a cast-iron item. The calipers come in varying sizes and so do the discs, it all depends on what kind of power you are running in your car, but the bigger you go the more it will cost. Many of these kits will also supply the custom brake disks with alloy bells (The centre of the brake disk), this means the brake disk will weigh less than a complete steel item.
