cozzie bathing suit. I have only heard this British slang for bathing costume once since arriving in Perth, and that was from a New Zealand-born Brit. A swimming costume, or "swimming cozzie" is, well, a costume a woman would go swimming in. One of those ones that covers your midrift, though, not a bikini or somesuch. Americans call them "bathing suits". I suppose technically there's nothing to stop men going swimming in them either, though that's perhaps less conventional. |
