The lubricate and bleed method is used to kill gas wells when circulation is not possible. During the lubricate and bleed method a batch (or slug) of kill fluid is pumped into the well. The pumps are then stopped to allow the fluid to drop through the gas column. Gas volume equivalent to that of the pumped kill fluid is then bled off via the choke line. This process is repeated until all gas has been removed. The well is then dead.
